My University ♥️

 Hello friends, this is my 10th blog ,

     

                 My university is the " University of the Visual and Performing Arts " 💃🏼♥️. It is located in Colombo 07. This was also the only university in Sri Lanka that had only aesthetic subjects. The university of  the Visual and Performing Arts dates back to 1893 when the Ceylon  technical college was established. Drawing and desing were among the frist courses taught there. The University of the Visual and Performing Arts was frist affiliated to the university of Kelaniya and became an independent university  in 2005.  The frist vice-chancellor was Mr. Sarath Amunugama. 

                                     This university consists of there faculties. If they are, 

                  * Faculty of Dance and Drama

                  * Faculty of Music

                  * Faculty of Fine Arts

                                  There are many departments in these three faculties. If they are ,

                  * Department of Percussion Music

                  * Department of Indian and Asian Dance

                  * Department of History and Theory of Dance and Drama

                  * Department of Theatre

                  * Department of Oriental Ballet and Contemporary dance

                  * Department of South Indian Music

                  * Department of Western Music

                  * Department of Ethnomusicology

                  * Department of Applied Music and Mass Communication 

                  * Department of Musicology

 Faculty of Fine Arts ,

                  * Department of Applied Art

                  * Department of Painting

                  * Department of Sculpture

                  * Department of Art Education 

                  * Department of Art History and Art Appreciation

                  * Department of Graphic Art

                            My university is different compared to other universities. " Art " is taught in it. Since then,many famous and important people have been born from various fields through this university.

       For example ,

         * In the past - Mr. Pandit Amaradeva

         * In the present - Mrs. Kanchana Anuradhi 

                     Not everyone can come to the university of the Visual and Performing Arts, it requires luck and interest.Accodingly, my university in colombo  is one of the most important universities in the university system because  Sri lanka only has one. I am also now a frist year student 😊 of the faculty of Dance and Drama  at the university of the Visual and Performing Arts 💃🏼♥️.
